Beyond his day-to-day work, Craig is an active member of neurodiversity communities. Being neurodivergent himself, Craig advocates for user-centred accessibility approaches that go beyond just compliance.

Accessibility is a design problem

In this talk I spend a bit of time covering some misconceptions about accessibility, who is responsible for it, and why it’s important that we design for it up front. It also includes real-world examples where design has impacted accessibility, before moving onto lots of practical guidance on what to be aware of and how to design for many different accessibility issues.

I also talk about cognitive accessibility principles and designing for neurodiversity, which is often missing when we focus purely on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

Craig is speaking on day two, June 11th.
